#1 El Jaguar Park is a relatively new protected natural area. Although Tulum is famous for its Mayan ruins and beaches, El Jaguar National Park was declared a protected area on February 23, 2022. At 2,913 hectares, it is three times larger than Central Park in New York.

#2 Sundays are free for Mexicans if you present your National Identity Document (INE).
#3 The busiest time is between 11:30 am and 5 pm. I recommend arriving as early as possible, as it is cooler and you can enjoy the park with fewer people. The park's hours are from 7 am to 5 pm.
#4 Activities: Some of the activities include a tour of the archaeological site, hiking, and cliff trekking to appreciate the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean Sea. Bike rentals are available, or you can bring your own. There are also a viewpoint, four birdwatching towers, a Cultural Lighthouse, and bike parking throughout the park.

#5 Services: Services include bike paths, beach access, parking, restrooms, shops, and free electric transportation.
#6 The park has six smokehouses with traditional cooks, a vegetable garden, and six food preparation bars.
#7 Admission prices for foreigners are 415 pesos, for nationals 255 pesos, for Quintana Roo residents 105 pesos, and for Tulum residents, people with disabilities, students, and seniors are FREE.
#8 The park has a direct connection to the Tulum Maya Train station, just in case you want to save yourself the taxi fare from the train station to Tulum Beach.
#9 The park has drinking fountains with recyclable rainwater for visitors, but they were dry and not working when we visited.

#10: Some of the animal species you can see are white-tailed deer, raccoons, coatis, gray foxes, ocelots, etc.
Obviously, we ask that whenever you visit the park, you do not feed the animals, litter, or use loudspeakers to play music, and respect the environment.
